Wedding Day Preparation

Every bride wants to look their absolute best on their wedding day, with lovely dewy fresh skin and glossy hair. Whilst hair and make-up will help achieve this look, a little preparation goes a long way.

Good skin and hair always starts from within, in the weeks leading up to your wedding, aim to drink 8 glasses of water a day and plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables, avoiding too much sugar and alcohol. Tempting though it is avoid any crash dieting particularly in the month before.

In the month leading up to the wedding try and relax, get enough sleep and generally pamper yourself as much as possible. Avoid any harsh facials instead make sure you have a good skin care routine in place, gently exfoliating the skin regularly, my favourites are Kiehls pineapple papaya facial scrub or micro dermabrasion or Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, use both as a foamy lather rather than a scrub. Follow this with a good mask, Sisley masks are all lovely, then finish off with your usual moisturiser, working it into the skin. This done on a regular basis will give you a lovely hydrated and glowing skin.

Finally don’t forget the body! Arms, backs and décolleté are quiet often neglected but are often on show on your wedding day. Dry brushing the arms regularly especially the tops of the arms and then gently exfoliating will get rid of any dry skin and help with skin tone. Lavish with lots of moisturiser, I love Kiehls Crème de Corps, massaging it into the skin well. When applying your face cream at night make sure you take it over your neck and onto the décolleté area. If you suffer from spots on your back consider going for a specialised back treatment to deep cleanse and help any problem areas.
